Mold testing

Mold Testing and Your Home

Your house could be riddled with mold, and in many cases, you’d never be able to tell. Mold can live in walls, floors, carpeting, and fabrics. It can be found in crawl spaces and duct work. Mold is an annoyance, but why does it really matter? What’s the big deal?

Why Mold is Dangerous

Mold is dangerous because it can cause severe health problems. People who are susceptible to mold can experience itchy eyes, sneezing, coughing, and may even have severe allergic reactions. People who have asthma could suffer more frequent and more serious attacks. Mold can even cause permanent lung damage! For such a little thing, mold poses a danger to you and your family.

Be Proactive

In the majority of cases, families are unaware of the mold infiltration of their home until they start getting sick. Especially for families with young children or older parents living with them, you don’t want to wait until your loved ones fall ill to test for mold. Take the proactive step, and hire an inspector to come test your home for mold before it becomes a problem!

Mold inspections are generally noninvasive and take just a couple hours to complete. Prices will vary depending on the services you request, but can cost anywhere from $100 up to $500. Removal services are priced dependent on where the mold is found and on the type of mold present. Clearance testing is also recommended after the mold is remediated, to verify that the treatment was effective.

When it comes to keeping your family and home safe, a mold inspection is a great way to make sure this pest is eradicated and prevented. If you notice a strange smell, can visibly see mold, or have had recent water damage, then you need to have a mold inspection completed in your home. Doing so will help minimize the risks associated with mold.
